In 2014 Wilsons fame exploded over the pond in a greater way after she was cast in Showtimes The Affair as Alison Lockhart a troubled young woman with a dark past who falls for a married man named Noah Solloway. Wilson received the Golden Globe award for Best Actress for a Television Series Drama, alongside Mauratierney and Joshua Jackson. Wilson told British Vogue that she loved acting in two viewpoints. Noah imagines Alison's confident and reckless sexy side. However, in reality, Alison views herself as unattractive. The actress said: "I do believe America is moralistic and judgemental and therefore what transpires on the show seems to be quite shocking." Wilson's exit from the show shocked many of her fans in 2018. However, she remained cryptic about further details. I was in a position to give up and she would not allow me to discuss the decision.
